Institute Innovation and entrepreneurship(IIE) in Tribhuvan University

Tribhuvan University (TU) and Singapore Management University (SMU) have decided to establish Institute Innovation and Entrepreneurship(IIE) for the entrepreneurship development and innovation in Nepal.

The Collaboration will pave the way for both TU and SMU to collaborate and find synergies in supporting entrepreneurial students and startups based in both countries to connect to new networks, partners and overseas markets. Prof. Dr Tirth Raj Khaniya, Vice Chancellor of Tribhuvan University has been Chairman of Institute. Similarly Mr. George Goh Ching Wah, has been an entrepreneur of Singapore is Vice Chairman and Founder. Mr. Hou Koh Foo,Director,Institute Innovation and Entrepreneurship(SMU) is advisor from Singapore. Dr. Binod Dawadi, Deputy Director of Kathmandu Center for Research and Education(KCRE) has been selected as the Director of institute. Similarly other Members are Dean of Management (TU), Dean of Institute of Science and Technology (TU), Executive Director of RECAST,Mr. Khagendra Acharya, young entrepreneur,Mr. Shekhar Golcha, Senior Vice president of FNCCI and representative of Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies.

Main objective of the institute is to provide reciprocal privileged access to knowledge sharing resources, infrastructure, networking opportunities, market accesses assistance and introductions to partners and institutions among others.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Tirth Raj Khaniya stated that this Institute hope to fulfill the recent gaps between academia, researchers and entrepreneurs in the country.
